Comments
NOTE: The deposited strain does NOT conform to the expected phenotype. It is able to grow on media lacking succinate.
This host allows control of cell mass while producing a biosynthetic compound via fermentation when transformed with a suitable plasmid.
It is best suited for the production of compounds which do not yield a net increase in TCA cycle intermediates, are not products of the glycolytic pathway, and are biosynthetically derived solely from glycolytic intermediates.
Derived from the strain YMC9 (ATCC 33927) by mud(amp lac)1 insertional mutagenesis and then removal of the beta-lactam resistance.
Recommendation for verification: Ability to grow on M9 media + 2 mg/ml glucose + 1 ug/ml vitamin B1 + 0.5 mg/ml succinate. Inability to grow on M9 media + 2 mg/ml glucose + 1 ug/ml vitamin B1.
