The antibody reacts with vitronectin receptors on human polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN, neutrophils) and blocks the receptor binding to the tripeptide Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD).
The antibody also inhibits RGD stimulated phagocytosis.
It precipitates a heterodimer of apparent molecular weights 140000 and 105000 daltons.
The antibody does not react with gpIIb/III or the LFA-1/Mac-1 family of cellular adhesion receptors. |
